![]() Process of Silk Screen Lapel Pins Silk Screen Printed is used for Solid-Color Process instead of Four-Color Process. That means Silk Screen Lapel Pins begin with creating several printing plates depend on how many colors the pins needs, and the colors are printed one by one onto the metal using the done plates, the process is very different from Offset Printed. We also use the same thickness (0.8mm) of metal as our Etched pins. The pins are designed to apply the enamel ink colors in a thin layer one color at a time through a mesh screen directly on to a metal base. This technique allows for the printing of designs with a precise number of colors and identified color number. As same as Offset, the large sheets of metal are then baked in an oven at 150 degrees centigrade to seal the inks. After cooling the sheet are trimmed to reveal the outside shaped of your lapel pin and plating it to your specific requirement. Finally, a clear protective epoxy dome is applied to the surface to protect the image underneath. |
