Process of Die Struck Lapel Pins

The process for developing die struck lapel pins is simple. A die is used to stamp an impression onto a copper or iron sheet.  After being struck by the die, the impressions are cut out to form individual lapel pin faces. The Die Struck process offers sharp detail, contrast and relief.

Next, instead of using color, the raised metal surfaces are highly polished to a luster finish while recessed areas are left with a sandblasted or textured look. Finish is done next, platings such as gold, silver and black nickel are available.
